Hoards of locals showed their faces for the 2008 Werri Beach VQS event at Gerringong on Saturday 15th November. The day was welcomed by two to three foot conditions, humbled by light offshore breeze and a spectacular turnout, making way for a fantastic day for all.The South Coast’s finest flaunted their best surfing across the four divisions; Groms, juniors, Girls and Pro Am divisions. The Groms stole the show early in the day proceedings with high scoring rides being dropped like steaming hot potatoes, covered in thick, luscious sour cream.click for photos

Lizzy Surf Series Wraps Up On Gold Coast (Sunday 16th November, 2008): QUEENSLAND’s female surfing stocks look bright with the third and final leg of the prestigious Lizzy Surf Series wrapping up on the Gold Coast today. The all-female series, boasting $2,000 in prize money, offered a 60-strong field of the state’s best ‘gidgets’ their last shot of glory in ’08 as they battled it out for elusive surf series titles.
